Energy Assistance Program

The Darien Social Service Department is now taking applications for the Energy Assistance program for 2005-06 until March 31, 2006. 

Applications are for oil heating only.  Electric and gas applications will begin January, 2006.

Proof of income is required.  This includes, but not limited to, Social Security, pension employment and interest income from any source.  If you are employed, we will need your last four weeks pay stubs.

Proof of liquid assets is also required.  Individuals, couples, and families may have liquid assets up to $10,000 for home owners and $7,000 for renters and still remain eligible for the program.
