Aug 14 2008 @ 1535 Dispatch reported a Fuel Leak on Maple Street. Engine 23 and Rescue 25 responded and found a Mack Truck leaking Diesel Fuel. Firefighters used a portable hazmat pod and speedy dry to clean the fuel that leaked onto the roadway. Units cleared at 1640.
Aug 13 2008 @ 0910 Dispatch reported a Tractor Trailer vs Box Truck on I-95 Southbound between exit 11 and entrance 11. Engine 23 responded. After arriving on scene command advised that they have a working extrication with the occupants in the box truck. After stabilizing the truck, Engine 23's crew were able to pop the door to the truck. The two occupants were transported the the hospital. Darien Rescue 44 was also called to the highway to assist. Back in service at 1045.
Aug 2 2008 @ 11:30 The calm before the second round of storms. After a FAA, Engine 21 responded to Heights Road to assist with possible flooding. On arrival, the road was flooded, but after clearing the storm drains, it subsided. Until the next round came, but then, the addition pump was added to assist with the water.
July 31 @ 10:00 Dispatch reported a MVA in the corner of West and Noroton Ave. E-23 responded and assisted PD with traffic and took care of the hazards. Units returned in about 45 minutes.
July 18 @ 0158 Dispatch reported a MVA on Hoyt Street. Reports were Car vs Telephone Pole with the pole resting on the car and wires down. Unit 200 Confirmed this and advised dispatch to contact CL@P because the occupant was still inside the vehicle. E-23 and R-25 responded to scene. CL@P arrived and disconnected power to the line. Hoyt street was closed for about two hours.
May 1 @ 15:21 Dispatch reported an MVA at 493 Hoyt St. 200 reported one car with a telephone pole down and all occupants were out of the car. E-23 and R-25 responded to assist with hazards and traffic. CL@P was called to cut the pole which was just cable lines only. Hoyt St was closed for about 1 hour.
