Highlights of the Year:

Some of the highlights of this office for Fiscal year 2006-2007 were:

  • Inspections of movie set on Chasmar’s Pond Rd for use of propane for special effects.
  • Worked with DHS staff and Darien PD to conduct the first lock down drill for the high school on April 9th.
  • Worked with Middlesex staff and police to conduct another successful lock down drill for Middlesex School.
  • Another heavy year for blasting; many of the projects now being built are on ledge.  This requires constant inspections from our office to ensure compliance by blasters, and to meet with neighbors to alleviate concerns, answering questions, and handling complaints.
  • Tokeneke School construction in full swing, we are working very closely with Turner Construction to ensure that it will be ready for occupancy in January 08.
  • Major renovations and new construction has begun for the downtown area, there are several projects that have started that will give a new look to the downtown area.
  • Some major projects completed this year included:
    • Woodway Country Club Maintenance facility
