As a Darien voter you may contact this office with any questions you might have about the electoral system. If the office is closed you can also contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (203) 656-7307 to register to vote.

If a registered voter is unable to vote in person on Election Day, the voter may apply to the Town Clerk for an absentee ballot for any of the following reasons:
- Absence from the Town during all of the hours of voting
- Physical disability
- Active service in the armed forces
- Duties as an election official at a polling place
- Religious tenets
Before a ballot can be issued to the voter, an application must be completed and returned to this office. The application can be obtained in person, by mail or by clicking here. The application must be signed* by the voter and mailed or hand delivered to the clerk’s office.

Absentee ballots are available 21 days before a Primary and 31 days before an Election.
*The Application for Absentee Ballot must be signed after the form has been printed. Electronic signatures are not acceptable.

Inactive Lists 2020-2024
The Inactive Lists indicate those persons who have not responded to clarify information received regarding a change of residence. These people are not on the Active Voter List and may not vote until reinstated.
If you have any information confirming their residence, please contact the Darien Registrars Office at (203) 656-7317 Monday - Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
